Ripped Off at a Garage

So I am from Kitchener and I recently took my car into a popular garage in town. I want them to correct a shaking in the front end and they said that they would take a look. After about 2 hours, they called me and gave me a long list of things to fix. The bill was going to cost me over $900 for all the repairs. I told them to only do what I had originally asked them to do, and so they balanced the tires. When i got the list of things that needed to be fixed, i realized that I had already fixed most on the list the year before. I drove the car home and still had a noise and shake from the front end. After further inspection, I realized it was the front break on the passenger side was ceased on. So, $900 wouldn’t have fixed the issue anyway. Are there any honest garages in this city?
