My wife and I, with a couple of our friends, decided to take a trip through Huron County, and we discovered some pretty great places.

This article will walk you through our entire adventure. Below was our itinerary of all the great places that we stopped. You can check them out by clicking on the link below. I would suggest you pick up a cooler from Amazon, the one that I purchased is here so that you can store some produce from your trip.

A SUNNY DAY AT SUNNYCRESTThe Cheapest Place to Purchase Homemade Baked Goods

First, we stopped at a small Mennonite bakery called Sunnycrest Home Baking which has to be the cheapest bakery in the area. We found so many wonderful goodies.

Their Address: 1094 Geddes St, Hawkesville, ON N0B 1X0, Canada

It may look like an ordinary house on the street, but if you look closely, you’ll notice a small bakery.

From fresh-baked bread, wonderful sweets, homemade jams, homemade hamburger buns, and so many other incredible baked items.

You just have to take the time and drop in. If you’re looking for fresh-baked items, at really low prices, then Sunnycrest Home Baking is for you.

I am sure you’ll find what you’re looking for.

BREAKFAST AT A GOOD SPOTWonderful Service, and Delicious Food

From there we headed to The Right Spot. It’s an awesome bakery and family restaurant. By this time, we were all pretty hungry for some breakfast, and The Right Spot hit the spot.

The service at this place was wonderful and the food was equal to the task. The four of us ate for around $60, and I have to say, it was a filling meal. You can always tell if a restaurant is good by how many locals are there, and it was a happening place. Good food and company, a nice find, if you ask me.

I had two fried eggs (over medium but they were more like over easy,) sausage, home fries, toast, and a cup of hot coffee.

My wife decided to go with the bacon, and the couple that was with us decided to try out the eggs benedict. It was all really good and tasted freshly cooked. We were all pleased.

It’s worth the time to check it out. It’s called the Right Spot, and it’s located at 14 Elora St N, Alma, Ontario N0B 1A0, Canada.

    You have to eat here.

FRESH PRODUCE FOR SALEIt’s a Place You Won’t Find on a Map

We kept driving past the farms in Huron County. It was such a beautiful day, and a wonderful drive through the country. The fields were all planted, the sky seemed extra blue, and the drive was so peaceful.

We finally ended up at a Mennonite farm that sells all kinds of fresh produce called Fordwich Line Produce. You’re not going to find this place on Google Maps, so I took a picture of the location on my phone. This should get you close to the location, just drive down the laneway and you’ll find a small vegetable stand.

This place is filled with so many fresh fruit and vegetables, and at super low prices at that. The food is so fresh, picked right from their own garden.

We grabbed lots of eggs, strawberries, and other vegetables. You’ll be able to get different vegetables throughout the summer and fall as they are in season. You can’t beat the prices, and you can’t beat the freshness of the product.

It was cute to see the kids running around the yard barefoot, and when they ran out of eggs, we saw the kids running down the laneway from the house with six more dozen. It’s service with a smile, that’s for sure.

WHEN NATURE ANSWERSMore Fresh Produce at Your Finger Tips

From there we headed to Country Road 7 to Gorrie Line Produce.

    It’s 44276 Country Road 7, Howick.

There we found more fresh produce and other nifty products for sale.

So many handmade items, great quality, and a really enjoyable place to check out if you’re in the area.

IT’S NICE TO “MEAT” YOULots of Fresh and Frozen Meat For Sale

From there, we jumped into the car and headed to Earlidale Meats in Elmira.

Yes, I spelled it wrong on purpose. It’s nice to MEAT you because we were introduced to the best meat shop in Huron and Waterloo County. This place is incredible!

At Elmira Meats, you’ll find a wide selection of frozen and fresh meat.

There’s a wide selection of burgers, steaks, pork chops, fresh bacon, and so many other products.

TREASURE HUNTING IN ELMIRASearching Through the Junk For Some Treasure

While in Elmira, we also went to the MCC Thrift and Gift. You’ll definitely find some goodies in this place. Lots of books, antiques, clothing items, and so much more. It’s worth stopping and shopping because I do believe you’ll find some treasure.

We did end up buying a few treasures at MCC Thrift and Gift.

SHINE ON HARVEST MOONA Great End to the Day

By this time, the day was coming to a close. We decided to head toward St. Jacobs for supper at one of our favourite restaurants – Harvest Moon.

It’s always a good meal at Harvest Moon. I had a wonderful steak sandwich with fries, and it was just perfect. It’s a clean, friendly environment, and the food is delicious.

It was a wonderful way to close out the day.

If you’re looking for a wonderful day trip, then I would strongly encourage you to head to Huron and Waterloo County. There are lots to see, and friendly people to meet.

At the end of our trip, we picked up some really great fresh and delicious things. More than all these things, we had a wonderful time together.

If you have the opportunity, you should really make the trip.
