We’re all about making our life easier! Isn’t that why we invest so much money on tech and gear that’s labeled “smart?” We want emails written for us and vacuums to have a mind of their own. We want things to be more streamlined and automatic. This is also true when it comes to the tools and gear in our kitchen.
A couple of days ago, I was going through the gadgets in my kitchen and determining which ones I couldn’t live without. I’m talking about the items that make my day-to-day life easier, and, in my humble opinion, should be purchased by every Canadian as soon as possible. These are not ground-breaking technologies, just simple devices that make me more efficient.
I’m going to list them below in no particular order. I’ll also add some Amazon links so that you can check out the price and do some solo research.
Let’s get right into it.
The DASH Egg Cooker
This is such a simple device. It’s an egg cooker with an auto shut-off, so you’re always getting perfectly cooked hard-boiled eggs. It’s not just for hard-boiled eggs; you can also cook perfect poached eggs, Scrambled eggs, or Omelets.

When my wife and I are on the Keto Diet, we tend to eat lots of eggs. This simple gadget allows you to do your morning chores without the threat of burning or overcooking your eggs, and it works flawlessly!

This egg cooker is simple to operate. You fill the small provided cup to the amount you would like your eggs cooked: soft, medium, and hard. You pour the water into the egg cooker and then hit the button on the front. A blue indicator light will turn on, and that’s really all you have to do. When the eggs are done cooking, an alarm will tell you to turn the cooker off. It perfectly cooks your eggs every time.
We always cook a few eggs before work for a nice afternoon snack. It’s easy to set up, clean up, and easy to use.
We use this egg cooker every day; that’s how much we love it. It’s worth the $30 that it will cost you online.
KitchenAid Stand Mixer
The KitchenAid stand mixer is a must for any baker.

The KitchenAid Stand Mixer is so simple to use and will save you a ton of time. Whether you’re mixing bread, baking cookies, or creating your own pasta, the KitchenAid Stand Mixer is the best of the best when it comes to kitchen appliances.
We use our KitchenAid Stand Mixer probably every day. It is, by far, one of the best investments that we’ve ever made.
One of the best features of any KitchenAid Stand Mixer is that there are so many attachments that you can purchase separately. We have two in our home, and we use them all of the time: the Ice Cream Maker Attachment and the Pasta Maker Attachment. If you’ve never had fresh pasta before, then you need to grab the Pasta Attachment and do it. It’s incredible.
NewAir Portable Ice Maker
We love summers, and what’s better than a refreshing beverage on those hot summer days. We always wanted an ice maker to take with us camping or outside during the sweltering days. After a ton of research on Canada’s best portable ice makers, we decided to purchase the NewAir ClearIce40.

We really liked the NewAir because of its design, stainless steel, and elegant look, but also we wanted clear ice. In my research, clear ice lasts a lot longer than bullet-shaped ice, and it has a level of sophistication to it.
We use this ice maker all of the time. It’s seriously running 24/7, and the kids are constantly running up to it and filling their bottles or glasses with clear ice. I’m sure that if something ever happened to it, we would have to go out and purchase another one.
Keurig Duo Coffee Maker
The fuel that makes the world operate correctly and keeps people calm 90% of the time is coffee. Every morning my routine is simple, I wake up, shower, get dressed and then make my way to the Keurig for my morning cup of Joe.

If the truth be told, I probably drink too much coffee, but this is exactly why the Keurig is on my best list. I cannot live without it – I use it every day!
One of the reasons that drew me to the Keurig K-Duo was the ability to make a single serving and a full pot of coffee. I usually use the single-serve every day, and when I have people over, I will make a pot of coffee. Everybody wins!

My favourite K-Cup is the Breakfast Blend by Kirkland; you can pick up 100 K-Cups for about $40 at Costco.
VIVO Mobile TV Cart
The last choice is a little unconventional as far as kitchen gear is concerned. It’s a TV cart that we have in our family room, right beside our kitchen.

I use this TV and Cart all of the time; when I’m working in the kitchen, I’ll put the News or a TV show on, you can hear what’s happening and still do all of your chores. It’s also great during the hockey game because you’re really close to all the snacks.
With Rogers Ignite TV, you don’t need any wires or cables either (It’s WIFI), and the TV is tucked nicely in the corner out of the way.
It’s not your normal kitchen gadget, but it’s a big one for our family.
If this TV Cart isn’t a fit for your home, then maybe just purchasing a small TV that you can mount in your Kitchen will work. Click here to see the best one that’s on Amazon.
Conclusion
There you have it! When it comes time to spring clean my kitchen, I don’t care what gets thrown out, but these five gadgets have to stay – I would miss them far too much.
